Introduction of Lithium Ion Battery Separator
Introduction of Lithium Ion Battery Separator – Membrane Spray – Cheersonic
Definition and function of isolation film
Separator is an important part of lithium ion battery, it is a microporous film used to separate the positive and negative electrodes, and it is a polymer functional material with nano-scale microporous structure. Its main function is to prevent short circuit due to contact of the two poles while allowing electrolyte ions to pass through. Its performance determines the interface structure and internal resistance of the battery, which directly affects the capacity, cycle and safety performance of the battery.
Characteristics that the diaphragm needs to meet:
1. Ionic conductors, electronic insulators
2. Mechanical and dimensional stability
3. Sufficient physical strength, easy to process
4. Chemical stability
5. Can effectively prevent the migration of particles, colloids or soluble substances between the two electrodes
6. Blind affinity with electrolyte
7. Uniform thickness and other characteristics
Usually the diaphragm is a single-layer PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene), and there are also double-layer or PP/PE/PP three-layer composite diaphragms
The main role of the separator in the lithium battery
1. Separate the positive and negative electrodes of the lithium battery to prevent the positive and negative electrodes from contacting to form a short circuit;
2. The micropores in the film can allow lithium ions to pass through, forming a charge-discharge circuit
In lithium batteries, after the separator absorbs the electrolyte, it can isolate the positive and negative electrodes to prevent short circuits, but at the same time allow the conduction of lithium ions. When overcharged or the temperature rises, the diaphragm must also have high temperature self-closing performance to block current conduction and prevent explosion. Not only that, the lithium battery separator also has the characteristics of high strength, fire resistance, chemical resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, good biocompatibility, and non-toxicity.
Ultrasonic spraying is ideal for deposition of solar cells, fuel cells, silicon cell coatings, and is increasingly used in research and production of spraying processes. Ultrasonic Spraying Energy Materials technology can be used to deposit uniform and extremely thin coatings on substrates of any width. Ultrasonic spraying technology enables very thin coatings with extremely high uniformity, resulting in improved electronic conversion rates and transport.
