Fuel Cell Electrolyte Coating

Fuel Cell Electrolyte Coating – Ultrasonic SprayCheersonic

Fuel cells are devices that utilize electrochemical reactions to generate electric power; they are very different from the widely used electric power generation systems today which make use of the mechanical power of heat engines and the principle of electromagnetic induction discovered by Michael Faraday.

A fuel cell consists of two electrodes and an electrolyte layer; the electrolyte is placed between the two electrodes, one an anode and the other a cathode. The fuel is supplied to the anode, at which a reaction to oxidize the fuel takes place. At the same time, an oxidizing agent is supplied to the cathode, and a reaction to reduce the oxidizing agent occurs. When lead wires from the two electrodes are connected to an external load to form a load circuit, charged particles move within the electrolyte, and a current can be drawn from the cell. This principle of fuel cell operation is in fact exactly the same as that of dry batteries and other primary (non-rechargeable) batteries of the kind we all use on a daily basis. The cell structure and materials used in fuel cells will differ depending on such other conditions as the operating temperature and pressure and the fuel used.

Based on the characteristics of the fuel cell, it can be sprayed with ultrasonic equipment. Cheersonic’s ultrasonic equipment is suitable for spraying catalyst solutions containing carbon black ink suspension, platinum slurry and other precious metal solutions. From R&D to production, our non-clogging technology results in greater control of coating attributes, significant reduction in materials usage, and reduced maintenance and downtime. It can prepare fuel cell proton exchange membrane with excellent performance. It integrates multiple systems such as ultrasonic, dispersion, carrier gas, liquid, heating station, vacuum adsorption, and exhaust emission control.

The advantages of ultrasonic spraying include:
1.Full range of ultrasonic nozzles
2.Spray patterns are easily shaped for precise coating applications
3.Up to 80% reduction in material consumption with reduced overspray, conserving expensive catalyst inks.
4.Spray plume can be easily shaped and directed to coat only target area.
5.Self-cleaning nozzle design prevents clogging
6.Extremely easy-to-control spray provides reliable and consistent results
7.Very uniform and durable coating (even on electrolyte substrates).
