Spray Coating of Polymer Nanocomposite Membranes
Spray Coating of Polymer Nanocomposite Membranes – Cheersonic
Polymer science has always been associated with nanotechnology, as many polymer objects, functionally significant or used in practice, are nano-scale. For example, separated phases in heterogeneous polymer systems often have nano-scale dimensions, besides that, inter-polymer layers and morphological domains in polymer blends, asymmetric membranes or multilayer films in some cases have nano-sized functionally-active fragments of their structure. Polymeric membranes are a common option for use in the capture of CO2 from flue gas because of the maturity of the technology in a variety of industries, namely petrochemicals. The membranes have a semi-permeable surface. This means that some particles can pass through the membrane while others are rejected. It is the membrane’s pore size that defines the size of the rejected particles. The membrane pore size is defined in microns. One micron is one-millionth of a meter. Thus, membranes can separate even the smallest particles such as bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and salts.
Ultrasonic coating equipment can be used in carbon capture electrolysis applications, which apply catalysts to membranes used to separate and capture CO2 before entering the atmosphere. CO2 is separated from other gases in waste gas streams produced in industrial processes, such as coal and natural gas-fired power plants or steel and cement plants; designed to reduce carbon emissions to combat global warming.
Our coating solutions are environmentally-friendly, efficient and highly reliable, and enable dramatic reductions in overspray, savings in raw material, water and energy usage and provide improved process repeatability, transfer efficiency, high uniformity and reduced emissions.
Cheersonic is the leading developer and manufacturer of ultrasonic coating systems for applying precise, thin film coatings to protect, strengthen or smooth surfaces on parts and components for the microelectronics/electronics, alternative energy, medical and industrial markets, including specialized glass applications in construction and automotive.
