Ultrasonic Spray Pyrolysis (USP) for Spherical Oxide Powder
The ultrasonic spray pyrolysis process can be used to prepare highly spherical zirconia (ZrO ₂) and alumina (Al₂O₃) powders, and precisely control the particle size and morphology. This system is committed to obtaining target products with high sphericity, concentrated particle size distribution, and stable process under continuous pilot scale operation conditions.
The target product features are as follows:
– Materials: Zirconia and alumina (using nitrate precursor solution as raw material)
– Target D50 particle size: 0.10 µ m, 0.20 µ m, 0.50 µ m, expandable to 2 µ m
– Sphericity ≥ 0.95
– Distribution span (D90-D10/D50) ≤ 0.7
– Appearance: Solid spherical particles
– Yield: Approximately 10 g/min dry powder (continuous operation)
The system configuration requirements include:
– Atomization device: Ultrasonic atomizer suitable for high-temperature reaction atmosphere
– Heating unit: High temperature tube furnace
– Reaction tube material: quartz or alumina
– Feeding system: precision metering and conveying unit
– Gas control: Multi channel atmosphere control module, supporting nitrogen as carrier gas and protective gas
– Cooling section: nitrogen rapid cooling or air cooling device, located in front of the powder collector
– Powder collection device: efficient capture system
– Structural material: High temperature and corrosion-resistant material
– Control Panel: Integrated Automatic Control
This system will be used for the preparation of spherical zirconia and alumina powders at the research and pilot level, mainly for applications such as ceramic film coatings, where strict requirements are placed on particle size accuracy and morphology control.
