Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coatings are widely used in medical devices. PTFE is a material with low friction, chemical resistance and high temperature stability. It has excellent non-adhesion and wear resistance, so it is suitable for parts of medical devices that need to reduce friction and prevent adhesion.

PTFE lubricating coating has been widely used on the surface of guide wires to reduce the friction between the guide wire and the inner wall of blood vessels. The application of PTFE lubricating coatings in vascular interventional devices can improve the surface biocompatibility of interventional devices and reduce the risk of Damage to the blood vessel wall reduces the interference to the blood flow during the operation, allowing interventional instruments to better pass through the twists and turns of the blood vessel, reducing the difficulty of the operation.

The coating solution is sprayed onto the PTFE coated guide wire using ultrasonic coating equipment, which consists of an ultrasonic spray head and a syringe pump system for the coating solution. Use a cylindrical clamp to secure the end of the guidewire. The guide wire remains perpendicular to the spray head and rotates at approximately 200 rpm during spraying. The nozzle moves longitudinally over the guide wire to apply the coating.
