Drug Loaded Coating on Vascular Stent

In the field of medical implant devices, the three types of implant products have extremely strict standards for manufacturing accuracy, safety, and biocompatibility due to their direct impact on critical physiological systems of the human body. Among them, as the core implant device for treating vascular stenosis or obstruction, the uniformity, adhesion, and biological activity of the inner wall coating of vascular stents directly affect the postoperative vascular repair effect and long-term safety.

In response to this demand, the ultrasonic spraying machine, with its unique atomization principle and precise control capability, can achieve high-quality coating preparation on the surface of the inner hole of the vascular stent. The inner diameter of the inner hole of this type of stent is often as low as 1mm (about 10 times the diameter of an adult hair), and such a fine spatial structure poses a high challenge to the spraying process – it is necessary to ensure that the coating completely covers the inner hole wall without omission, and to avoid coating thickness causing narrow lumen or coating defects due to particle aggregation.

UMC3000 Ultrasonic Wire Spray Machine

Ultrasonic spraying machine atomizes coating materials (such as biocompatible polymer materials, drug loaded matrices, etc.) into micrometer sized uniform particles through high-frequency vibration. With precise motion control components, the atomized particles can be evenly distributed along the axial and radial directions of the stent inner hole, ultimately forming a functional coating with controllable thickness (usually several micrometers to tens of micrometers) and smooth surface. This type of coating not only enhances the biocompatibility between the stent and the blood vessel wall, reduces foreign body reactions, but also allows for slow drug release of some drug loaded coatings, reducing the incidence of postoperative vascular restenosis, providing key process support for the clinical application of three types of implantable vascular stents.
