Fuel cell technologies have become, in recent years, an important subject of research and innovation. Among different types of fuel cells, the solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs) have attracted significant attention due to high efficiency,fuel flexibility and silent operation. SOFCs are solid-state devices that utilize electrochemical reactions to generate electricity. Fuel is supplied to the anode where it accepts O2 delivered by the electrolyte in the process of fuel oxidation.The function of the electrolyte is to transport O2 from the cathode to the anode under a gradient of oxygen chemical potentials. The by-products of this reaction are water and heat. The electrons, required for the electrode reactions, are released by the anode and arrive at the cathode via an external load.
